Island of Multitude

Karl Kaisel
Island of Multitude
DESCRIPTION

How is the world perceived by an island—a place composed of multitudes, both living and nonliving?

Space and time from a multispecies viewpoint are infinitely complex, and capturing them in a linear film might seem impossible. Island of Multitude immerses itself—if not gets entangled—in the island’s intricate web of connections, following and building links between the various agents that inhabit it. The contact points are observed from multiple perspectives, with each new viewpoint forming an even more complex web.

In the end, this film presents just one story out of the countless narratives that unfold on the island each day.
