DESCRIPTION

In the talk VR, Theatre, and Digital Storytelling: How to Tell Stories in Hybrid Environments, participants will explore the intersection of virtual reality and live theatre to discover innovative approaches to narrative production. As digital and physical worlds increasingly converge, hybrid storytelling offers unique opportunities to craft immersive and emotionally resonant experiences. Attendees will gain insights into how virtual environments can create interactive, dynamic worlds, while the integration of live actors enhances engagement and emotional depth.

Through case studies such as The Last Play, The Fall of R’Thea, and Sticklebacks, practical examples will illustrate how these techniques evoke complex emotions and provoke meaningful reflection. Additionally, strategies for maintaining narrative coherence, managing participant interaction, and achieving emotional impact in hybrid environments will be discussed.
