PSEEHEEKAWN is a solo project by guitarist, composer and interdisciplinary artist Giorgos Bizios dedicated to the creative process of experimentation, discovery and transformation. Taking its name after the Greek word “psychiko” (ψυχικό) – one’s selfless act of honoring the soul of a dead one, Bizios views this act as an offering; a vessel of energy that transcends human conditioning and opens up a dialogue between the physical and the spiritual realm. With a somewhat childlike attitude, he invites the listener to a ritualistic enquiry that aims to disrupt the boundaries of music making as defined by cultural colonialism and challenge the guitar’s ascribed historical identity.
